Objectives: After completing the Himalayan Alpine Mountaineering Course (HMC) we will do the five peaks. You will learn the relevant techniques to acquire mountaineering skills. Himalayan glacier, anchorage, crevasse rescue systems, jumaring on fix line, and rope and knots. It includes how to trek in high altitude. We will take you through trekking via Gokiyo valley, Everest Base Camp. The peak climbing includes over 6000m peaks: Lobuche and Island peak.
After the Himalayan Alpine Mountaineering Course, you will be ready to climb Ama Dablam because you will be well prepared and trained technically, physically and mentally.
Content of the HAMC: Knots, glacier travel, prusiking, advance crampon techniques, belaying techniques, snow anchors, ice anchors, rock anchors, equalising anchors, rappelling (abseiling), crevasse rescue, avalanche awareness, planning the climb, mountain weather, camp management and trekking in the Himalayas.
Difficulty: You will hike up to Gokyo Ri, Cho La pass, Kala Pathar, and Everest Base Camp, which is perfect training for the peak ascent, on top of being a great trek. It is also good for acclimatization before climbing the peaks. The peaks are both physically and technically more difficult than the trekking and the pass.
The climbing of the Ama Dablam is (UIAA 5a) alpine. Technical alpine mountain, Expose ridge, steep In addition the altitude has to be taken into consideration.
Trip duration: 35 days including trekking, peak climbing, training, and Ama Dablam Climbing expedition.
- Food and lodging: During trek and training the accommodation provide will be in tea houses (lodges). All meals will be freshly cooked and served at the lodge. During the training and peak climbing, the accommodation will be in tents at base camps or high camps of the peaks. Here, we will provide alpine-style food.
- Ama Base camp we use the Mountain Hut ( best accommodations in the Khumbu Valley at Mountain region.
Requirement: You must be physically and mentally well prepared for this trip. You must also have some technical, basic mountaineering, rock climbing experience, knowledge or similar as well as hiking and altitude experience.

- Insurance (compulsory): Make sure you have a good insurance covering search and rescue, medical expenses and transportation to home country. You should also consider a Cancellation Policy in case of illness at time of departure
- Any costs associated with you leaving the expedition early or early arrival back to Kathmandu if you’ve finished your expedition ahead of schedule
